Professor Pulok Kumar Mukherjee is working as the Director of Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), under Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Prof. Mukherjee has more than 29 years of experience in research and academics on several aspects of bioresources mainly highlighting the development of bioeconomy from bioresources.

His academic and research career has been outstanding, including globally acclaimed contributions on documentation of traditional knowledge together with their scientific validation through multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary translational approach with traditional medicine inspired drug development for their therapeutic potentials.
